Kettlebell Workouts You’re Doing Them “Wrong”...?

The Best Kettlebell Workout Plan For You?

My training partner sent me a video clip of a well known bodybuilder the other day who seems to have defied time.

Now, you know I’m not a big fan of bodybuilders, but this guy fascinates me for several reasons:

He’s a black belt in judo and I believe he won the California State Championships when he was younger

He was on the TV show, “American Gladiators” – as one of the gladiators

He was a powerlifting champ – and STILL strong as an ox

And he’s my age - early 50s - but looks like he’s in his early 30s. (And I’ve been following him – from a distance – since the 1990s.)

What he said in this video clip was essentially this (and I’m paraphrasing):

“If you’ve been going to the gym, training for 10, 15, 20 years – great – but where’s the evidence?

It’s not the time you put in, but the quality time you’re putting in.”

That’s a great point.

And unfortunately, it’s what many, if not most guys our age are missing these days.

See, it’s not how “hard” you work out.

It’s not how much you sweat.

It’s not how close you came to throwing up your lunch.

And it’s not how sore, destroyed, or trashed you feel the next day.

The only things that matter are the following:

1- Can you measure a positive change in your strength?

The weight you're using is increasing.

Or you’re doing the same weight for more reps.

Or you’re doing the same reps in less time.

2- Can you measure a positive change in your physical appearance?

More muscle

Less fat

Looking leaner

Pants fitting looser

Shirts tighter in the shoulders and arms

3- Can you measure an improvement in your health?

VO2Max increase

Lower resting heart rate

Improved blood work

Better sleep

If not, might I humbly suggest the following:

You’re doing it wrong.

Unless of course you #1 goal is to sweat a lot, get a “hard” workout in, throw up in your mouth, and feel trashed the next day.

If so, keep going and ignore this email.

But, I’m betting that’s not you.

And yeah, I know that might’ve been a little – blunt.

But I don’t know about you, sometimes I need a little “blunt” in my life from a friend to shake me out of my slumber and back to reality.

So, if it’s been awhile since you’ve seen the results you started working out to get…

You may need a new plan.

That all depends on your –

Skills

Strengths

Weaknesses

Time

Energy

Access to kettlebells

I recommend you see which one of these plans are right for you.

They’ve worked for THOUSANDS of men just like you.

So, there’s no reason they wouldn’t work for you too.
